Local Action: How to Get Involved in Your City

A conversation about how Miami residents can become more engaged in the decisions shaping their city. Drawing on the successes and challenges of building up and protecting Gramps and Gramps Getaway as real-world examples, the discussion will explore how to navigate local government, organize around issues, and take meaningful action at the local level. The conversation will also dive into the speakers’ personal journeys building businesses in Miami and what led them to become more actively involved in their city.

The session will cover the systems and organizational practices behind managing dates, communication, travel, logistics, and the day-to-day responsibilities of a touring artist. Touring Tools founder Nicholas G. Padilla will demonstrate how independent DJs and musicians can manage their shows and tours using Touring Tools.
